Statement by IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde on Meeting with Hassan Rouhani, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran

Christine Lagarde, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), met with Hassan Rouhani, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran today in New York. At the conclusion of the meeting, the Managing Director made the following remarks:
“I met President Hassan Rouhani today in New York at the United Nations and conveyed my deepest condolences to the families of the victims and the people of Iran following Saturday’s attack. We also discussed global developments and economic challenges facing Iran, as well as the key reform priorities needed to safeguard macroeconomic stability at this time.”
